I started to cheat today, and Heather jumped on my case. I started to listen to one of my books, thinking hey, I have some time at work, I could get started since I am going to be off work until next Wednesday. Well I mentioned this to Heather who told me that I was cheating.
It turns out, that it was good she called me on it because the book I had started to listen to was called About Alice. It is a non-fiction book and it only about a hour and a half long on audio. However I almost started crying the first few minutes of it because it is a story by a man who just lost his wife to lung cancer.
I am going to listen to it tomorrow as I am doing the dishes and cleaning up the house. I will probably finish it tomorrow too. But I am sure I will bawl my little girl eyes out the whole time I am reading/listening to it.
Matt mentioned to me the other day that he thinks I am cheating by listening to such short books. But this was my retort, for every two or three short books I have I have one or two terribly long ones, so it all really just washes itself.
Lucky for my goal, I am a terribly fast reader, and great at reading more than one book at a time, since I plan on listening during the day, reading at night.
Happy New Years everyone!!!!

In need....
I am short 33 books right now. I have taken many of your suggestions and have based many of my picks on if I can get them on audio or not. I have 98% of the books on my list on audio already. The books that I am having a hard time find, I think I will end up getting a subscription to audible.com for the rest, because, well, they have everything on audio.
So please keep up the suggestions. I am having a great time looking for the books, however I am quiet sure I will have an even better time reading them :)

A few questions; a few answers
My list is not in order in which I will read. As a matter of fact, other than seperating them into catagories thy aren't in any order at all. You will also notice I did not list authors. There is good reason to this. I wanted a small simple list for the side bar. I will post authors when I blog about the book.
Also, it looks like there are holes in my list right now. This is because when I was checking the New York Times Best Seller list last night I noticed that a bunch of books in my Fiction catagory were on thier list too, so I moved them. I will be filling those gaps in tonight.
I was criticized today by a co-worker today as she was appalled thinking I had not ever read To Kill a Mockingbird. I corrected her though because I have infact read it. There are a few books on my list that I have read before. I will count these re-reads towards my goal. Reason being, as you get older your perspective changes. Books might take on a new light for me now that I am older than they did when I was younger. Plus since I am not being forced to read them by my teacher, I might be more apt to really read them. :)
I am hoping to have my list finished by the end of January but I have a feeling it will be done this weekend with all the recommendations I am getting so far. Please note that if you recomend an audio book I am trying to keep it between 10-15 hours of listening time. The books that I will actually read will probably be the long ones seeing as I can read much faster than listening to a book.
I think that answers some questions. At least I hope. Oh yea and I fixed the comments so anyone can comment now you don't need to have a gmail account.

Lists
My book list off to the right will be changing probably daily until it's complete at 100. I won't be removing anything, just adding.
Also, my one firm rule is that Harry Potter and the Twilight series will not count towards my 100, EXCEPT, Book 7 of HP and Eclipse, but ONLY in the months in which the movies are coming out. Those are my only exceptions. I really need to branch out and read something other than those two series...

What the heck is Randi thinking????
I haven't been reading much since I had Lucy, and I love to read. So I thought the best thing to do was to set a goal, and work towards it.
I have created a list of books that I would like to read, but obviously there are a TON more left that I need to reach my goal. I would like to "listen" to as many books as possible. The great thing about my job is that I can keep my headphones on, so it gives me a great opportunity to do a lot of "reading" while at work.
I don't have much in the way of rules for this goal, but I do want to read 10 classics. Matt thinks this is a great idea so and is constantly recommending books for me to read that I never really listen too, so Matt gets to pick 5. I thought about picking a few books from the New York Times best seller list, and maybe one or two from Oprah's book club recommendations. I would also like to read a couple non-fiction books, and possibly one or two biographies.
I figure after I finish a book, I would jot down a few words about each book, give it a grade and cross it off my list.
I figured that if I started a blog and got a few followers it would give me an incentive to keep this up. Your support is well appreciated!
So go ahead and start recommending books!!
